National Context: Cradle to Prison Pipeline

The Children's Defense Fund released a report about America's Cradle to Prison Pipeline. This report gives a national context to our local work.

Excerpt from the Report:

"This America's Cradle to Prison Pipeline Report by the Children's Defense Fund is a loud siren of alarm and wake up call to action to every parent, every faith, community, public policy, policital and cultural leader, child and family serving agency and citizen. The Cradle to Prison Pipeline is an urgent national crisis at the intersection of poverty and race that puts Black boys born in 2001 at a one in three lifetime risk of going to prison, and Latino boys born in 2001 at a one in six lifetime risk of the same fate. Tens of thousands of children and teens are sucked into the Pipeline each year."
